Why this site exists
We started on YouTube because it is hard to fake a hands-on video. That grew into a habit: buy the product, live with it for a few weeks, then report what actually held up. This site is the written half of that work — the specs, comparisons and caveats that are easier to scan than to sit through.
If you have ever bought something with a wall of five-star reviews and regretted it a month later, you already understand the problem we are trying to solve.

Every product in a roundup is purchased at retail, exactly the way you would buy it.

A single product in isolation tells you almost nothing. A ranking only means something against alternatives.

Including the products we were excited about and turned out to be wrong about.
How we pay for it
When you buy through a link on this site we may earn a small commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra, and it is the only way this site makes money.
Crucially, the commission does not change the ranking. We are paid the same whether you buy our top pick or the budget option — which is exactly why we can afford to tell you the cheap one is often good enough.
What we will not do
