How to choose
If your car has a basic factory system, a modest DSP amplifier driving the original speakers usually produces a bigger improvement than expensive speakers with no processing. Time alignment alone transforms the stereo image in a cabin where you sit far off-axis.
If you already have good speakers, prioritise clean power and a transparent signal path over channel count. More channels you do not use adds heat, cost and installation complexity for nothing.
Common questions
Will a DSP amp work with a factory head unit?
Most are designed for exactly that, taking high-level speaker inputs and correcting the factory equalisation curve. Check that the model explicitly supports your vehicle if it uses a data-bus-controlled system.
Do I need a subwoofer as well?
Not necessarily, but factory door speakers roll off early. A small sealed subwoofer usually delivers a larger perceived improvement than any amount of processing on the existing drivers.
